Size Guide

A comfortable fit for a meaningful keepsake

Your jewellery should feel as lovely to wear as it is meaningful to you. This guide will help you choose a size for your ring, necklace, bracelet or bangle.

Always check the individual product listing for the available sizes, measurements and fittings. These vary by design. If you are unsure, contact me with the name of your chosen piece and I will be happy to help.

Finding your ring size

Start with a professional measurement

For the most reliable fit, I recommend having the finger measured by a jeweller and asking for your UK letter size. This is particularly helpful for solid gold pieces and wider bands.

Measure the exact finger on the hand where you will wear the ring. The corresponding finger on your other hand may be a different size.

Need a ring sizer at home?

If you only need help checking your size, you can buy my adjustable UK ring sizer separately for £2. Postage is calculated at checkout.

If you also need a kit for sending your inclusions, choose my Ashes, Hair & Fur Memorial Keepsake Collection Kit with a ring sizer instead. Select the Collection kit with ring sizer option; the standard collection kit does not include the ring sizer. There is no need to buy a separate sizer as well.

Follow the instructions supplied with your sizer and check the fit more than once. For a wider band or an uncertain result, I still recommend a jeweller’s measurement before ordering. Please allow time for your sizer or kit to arrive and for checking your size before choosing your ring.

Tips for a comfortable fit

  • Check your size when your hands are at a comfortable temperature. Heat, cold and temporary swelling can change the fit.
  • Where possible, check at more than one time of day.
  • A ring should pass over your knuckle with a little resistance and sit comfortably without digging in or slipping off easily.
  • Wider bands can feel tighter than narrow bands. Ask to be measured with a band of similar width to your chosen design.

If you already have a ring that fits

A ring worn comfortably on the same finger can help a jeweller check your size. Choose one with a similar band width if possible. Measuring the inside diameter at home can be a useful reference, but small errors matter, so I would not rely on it alone for an important order.

String, paper strips and printed charts can give misleading measurements. A proper fitting check is a better choice if you are unsure.

Between sizes or buying a surprise?

Please ask me before ordering. The best option depends on the design, band width and sizes available. Avoid guessing a gift recipient’s size where possible.

Do not assume that a memorial ring can be resized once its inclusions have been set. Ask about your chosen design first. Only adjust an adjustable ring in the way described in its listing; do not force or repeatedly bend it.

Choosing your necklace length

Check whether a chain is included, which lengths are offered and whether the design has an extender. Some pendants may be sold without a chain.

To try a length, use a soft measuring tape or a piece of string around your neck, positioned where you would like the chain to sit. Keep it comfortably loose. Remove the string and measure it against a ruler, allowing for the pendant, your neckline and any necklaces you plan to layer.

The same chain length sits differently on different people. Model photographs are a styling reference, not a guarantee of where a necklace will sit on you. An extender is only included where the listing states this.

Bracelet sizing

Use a soft tape to measure your wrist where you want the bracelet to sit. The tape should touch your skin without digging in. Compare this with the measurements on the product listing and consider whether you prefer a closer or looser fit.

Your wrist measurement is not automatically the finished bracelet length you need. Beads, chunkier links and the fastening can affect the fit. Send me your wrist measurement and the product name if you would like help choosing.

Bangle sizing

A closed rigid bangle needs to pass over the widest part of your hand, not just fit around your wrist. Hinged or clasp bangles open differently, so follow the information for that specific piece.

Check whether the listing gives an internal diameter, internal circumference or another measurement. These are different measurements and are not interchangeable. Please ask if you are unsure how to compare them.

Pendants, earrings and charms

Close-up photographs are often enlarged to show the details and inclusions. Always check the listed height and width rather than judging the size from a photograph alone.

For a simple reference, draw those dimensions on paper and compare them with jewellery you already wear. Check whether measurements include the bail, hooks or other fittings. If this is not clear, please ask.

For a charm, check its stated compatibility and opening size before ordering it for an existing bracelet or chain.

A little help before you order

If you are choosing a keepsake for ashes, human hair, pet hair or pet fur, getting the fit right before the inclusion work begins is especially helpful.

Contact me with the name of your chosen piece, the size you usually wear and any measurements you have taken. I can help you check the available options. Not every design can be altered or made in every size.

With love,
