♥ Our Journey
Lovely Oxford’s journey has been shaped by both the joys and heartbreaks of life. I lost my father in my late twenties to a sudden brain aneurism, a devastating loss that still resonates with me. It was my dad who first introduced me to the world of handmade jewellery, and just before he passed away in 2013, we had begun working with resin to preserve flowers. This was the start of my creative journey. In 2012, I moved to Oxford, England, and began laying the foundation for what would become Lovely Oxford, a brand born from personal loss and the desire to create something meaningful. Tragically, after a family holiday in Greece, my dad passed away, and I had to put my dreams on hold.
Two years later, I gave the shop another go, making a batch of jewellery with resin, but I faced a setback when I couldn’t sell the pieces. With personal struggles, moving house, and becoming a mum, my shop had to be put aside. In 2017, just as my daughter was born, my world was turned upside down once again when I learned that my mum’s breast cancer had returned after 16 years in remission. This time, it was terminal, and I had to focus all my energy on caring for her. My mum suffered a great deal in the last two years of her life, and I spent the majority of my maternity leave by her side, until her passing in 2019.
Losing both of my parents—my best friends—left me devastated. As if that weren’t enough, the arrival of COVID in 2020 led me to take a step back again. But during this time, I felt a pull to reconnect with my craft. I repolished the old jewellery I had made, sold a few pieces, and slowly began growing the shop. It was at this point that I introduced memorial jewellery into my shop, a tribute to my parents and my own healing journey.
By 2024, after a whirlwind of custom orders for both wedding flower preservation and memorial jewellery, combined with my professional job, I realised I needed to take a break. Now, as I return with new ideas and a fresh structure, I feel more passionate than ever about what I do.

Our Promise
The Heart and Soul Behind Lovely Oxford
I’m Olja (Olya), the artist and heart behind Lovely Oxford. A traveller at heart, a creator by passion, and a memory-keeper by purpose, I pour my soul into every piece of jewellery I make.
Jewellery-making has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It was my father who first introduced me to handmade jewellery, and just before his passing in 2013, we had begun working with resin to preserve flowers together. That moment sparked a lifelong love for creating meaningful keepsakes.
Having lived in three countries and speaking four languages, I have always been drawn to new experiences and cultures. While my travels once took me far and wide, in recent years, I’ve found joy in more local adventures, cherishing moments with my daughter and our Springer Spaniel puppy, Lucy.
When I’m not crafting, I work as an engineer, dedicating four days a week to my professional career. The rest of my time is spent creating jewellery, caring for my family, and tending to our allotments, where we grow wildflowers and vegetables—another way I stay connected to nature, which inspires so much of my work.
Sustainability is at the heart of what I do. The majority of my materials come from small UK-based businesses, and every piece is crafted with care, love, and respect for both the earth and the memories they hold.
Through Lovely Oxford, I hope to give others the same comfort and connection that jewellery has given me—a way to preserve the moments and people who matter most.
