Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions — Lovely Oxford

By placing an order with Lovely Oxford, you are agreeing to the following Terms & Conditions in full. Please read them carefully before purchasing.

References to ‘you’ and ‘your’ refer to persons placing an order via the Lovely Oxford website or through any associated promotional activity including email, Instagram, Facebook, and other social channels.

1. Orders & Order Acceptance

When you place an order with Lovely Oxford, it will be deemed that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. Please ensure you confirm your delivery address and any personalisation details at checkout.

By placing an order you are making an offer to purchase the goods outlined in your order. A contract for the sale of our products will only exist once an order has been accepted, processed, and dispatched to you.

I reserve the right to reject any offer of purchase. I may be unable to fulfil an order in the following circumstances:

  • The product ordered is out of stock
  • I am unable to authorise your payment
  • A product description or pricing error has been identified
  • Delivery companies are temporarily unable to deliver due to exceptional circumstances beyond my control, including severe weather or accidents

Should there be an issue with your order, I will contact you by email. Please check all items upon receipt — faulty or damaged items must be reported within 48 hours of receiving your parcel.

Whilst I take every reasonable care to keep your order details and payment secure, I cannot be responsible for any loss you may suffer if a third party gains unauthorised access to information you supply when ordering from the Lovely Oxford website.

2. Website Pricing & Product Descriptions

I take all reasonable care to ensure that details, prices, and descriptions of products on this website are accurate at the time of listing. Whilst I endeavour to keep the website as up-to-date as possible, there may be rare occasions where information does not exactly reflect the position at the point an order is placed.

I cannot confirm the price of a product until your order is accepted. As computer monitors and screens vary in nature and resolution, I cannot guarantee that your screen’s representation of any colour will be completely accurate — this is particularly relevant for resin and inclusion pieces where colour variation is inherent to the handmade process.

3. Handmade Nature & Colour Variations

Each item is crafted individually by hand. Please note that while the resin filling and inclusion stone within each piece is made entirely by hand, the ring setting itself is not handmade — it is a professionally manufactured setting into which the handcrafted resin stone is set.

Colours and appearances may vary depending on:

  • A) The jewellery setting the stone is cast into.
  • B) The inclusions being cast — for example, dark, red, blonde, or grey hair strands will each appear differently, reflecting the natural colour of the hair along with the pigment and resin used.

This also applies to ashes. Due to the wide variation in colour of ashes and hair, it is sometimes difficult to predict exactly how an item will appear before it is cast. If you would like to speak with me directly about what your item may look like before purchasing, please contact me using the Contact button in the main navigation.

Please note: White, grey, blonde, cream, or palomino human, horse, or pet hair/fur may go transparent within the resin. Light or grey hair and fur is often pigment-less. Please contact me for advice if you have any concerns — I have extensive knowledge of how different inclusions behave within pigmented settings and am happy to advise on what will look best for you.

4. Handwriting Engraving

Where handwriting engraving is selected, please be aware of the following:

  • Handwriting submitted via pen on paper may result in a less defined or less visible engraving. This is due to variations in line thickness and ink bleed when converting handwritten samples to an engravable format.
  • For the clearest and most precise result, I recommend submitting handwriting samples written with a fine-tipped pen or fine-tipped Sharpie marker, on plain white paper, with firm and consistent pressure. Please avoid standard ballpoint pens (which can appear too light) and thick marker Sharpies (which may cause letters to lose definition when scaled down). Samples can be scanned or photographed — just ensure the image is clear, well-lit, and in focus.
  • Very light, thin, or joined-up handwriting styles may engrave with reduced visibility depending on the metal and finish chosen. Gold and highly polished surfaces tend to show engraving most clearly; oxidised or brushed finishes may reduce contrast.
  • I will always do my best to faithfully reproduce the handwriting provided, but I cannot guarantee an exact match in depth or visibility due to the nature of the engraving process.
  • If you have any concerns about how your handwriting sample may engrave, please contact me before placing your order at Info@lovelyoxford.co.uk.

5. Posting Your Inclusions

You accept full responsibility for posting your inclusions (ashes, hair, fur, or other materials) to me. Should they go missing in transit, Lovely Oxford cannot be held liable. I strongly recommend sending inclusions by Royal Mail Special Delivery for your peace of mind.

6. Delivery Address

The name and address provided on your order will be used to ship your items. If you need to change your delivery address after your order has been processed, please contact me directly and await written confirmation from me before assuming the change has been made.

If you move house and do not inform me, your parcel will be dispatched to the address given at the time of ordering. Lovely Oxford accepts no liability for parcels lost or undelivered as a result of an incorrect or outdated address.

Should Royal Mail or any other courier I use lose your parcel, I will endeavour to track it and claim compensation on your behalf, but I cannot be held responsible for third-party courier failures.

7. Order Changes, Cancellations & Your Right to Cancel

Once an order has been placed, you have 24 hours to contact me if you wish to change the item ordered or notify me that you have ordered the wrong item. After this window, I am not obliged to change or refund your order.

Cancellation Exemptions — The Majority of Our Products

The following categories are legally exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded once an order has been placed:

  • All custom and bespoke orders — made to your specifications
  • All engraved items — including handwriting and custom engraving, as these are personalised to order
  • All memorial and inclusion jewellery — containing ashes, hair, fur, or any personal materials. These are sealed, personal goods that cannot be returned for hygiene and sentimental reasons.
  • All earrings — exempt for hygiene reasons

By placing an order for any of the above, you acknowledge and accept this exemption.

Ready-Made Non-Personalised Items

For ready-made, non-personalised, non-engraved items (excluding earrings and inclusion pieces), you may return your order within 30 days of receiving it, provided you notify me in writing at Info@lovelyoxford.co.uk before the 30-day period expires. The item must be returned to me at your own cost, unused and in its original condition. Refunds will only be processed once the item has been received and inspected.

8. Accidental Damage

If you accidentally damage your item, I am not obliged to repair or refund it. However, I will always try to help where I can — please contact me.

This includes damage caused by chemicals such as hand sanitiser, perfume, or cleaning products, which can cause cloudy spots or surface damage to the resin. Care instructions are provided with every item. Please follow them carefully to protect your jewellery.

If your item arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and I will do my utmost to resolve the issue.

9. Faulty Goods

If your item is found to be faulty within 30 days of receipt, I will offer a replacement, repair, or full refund upon return of the item. After this period, I am not obligated to refund or exchange, though in exceptional circumstances I may extend this to 3 months at my discretion. This does not include damage resulting from normal wear and tear.

I strongly recommend following the care instructions included with your order to reduce the likelihood of tarnishing, particularly for plated items.

10. Returns & Refunds

Custom, Bespoke & Engraved Orders

All custom, bespoke, and engraved orders are non-returnable and non-refundable. This includes any jewellery made to your specifications, produced to a specific brief, or personalised with engraving of any kind. Please ensure all details are correct before placing your order.

Memorial & Inclusion Jewellery

Any jewellery that holds or incorporates inclusions — including ashes, hair, fur, or any other personal materials — is non-returnable and non-refundable under any circumstances. Due to the irreplaceable and personal nature of these items, I am unable to accept returns once an order has been placed.

Earrings

For hygiene reasons, all earrings are non-returnable and non-refundable, whether ready-made or custom.

Ready-Made Jewellery

Ready-made jewellery (excluding earrings, engraved items, and inclusion pieces) may be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is unused, unworn, in its original condition and packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase. Return postage is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrectly sent.

To initiate a return, please contact me at Info@lovelyoxford.co.uk before sending any items back.

11. Inclusion Submission Deadline

I kindly ask that inclusions are sent to me within 6 weeks of your order date. If you are unable to send your inclusions within this timeframe, please contact me as soon as possible at Info@lovelyoxford.co.uk to let me know — I understand that special circumstances arise and will always do my best to accommodate you where I can.

If I have not received your inclusions within 6 weeks and have not heard from you (unless delayed by international shipping), I reserve the right to refuse a refund and to decline completing the work after this timeframe.

12. Turnaround Times

Estimated production times are as follows:

Item Type Estimated Turnaround
Ready-made items Approximately 5 working days
Sterling silver memorial pieces 1–5 weeks
Gold memorial pieces 1–10 weeks

Please note:

  • Orders requiring a custom ring size will not begin production until your size is confirmed — any delay will push back your estimated completion date.
  • For inclusion pieces, turnaround times are measured from the date I receive your inclusion kit.
  • Delays caused by third-party suppliers or courier services are outside my control.
  • All turnaround times are estimates only. By purchasing, you acknowledge that delays may occur. I will always do my utmost to meet deadlines for special occasions.

13. Promotional Codes & Discounts

Occasionally I offer promotional or discount codes. The following conditions apply to all promotions:

  • Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or offers unless explicitly stated.
  • Each promotional code will have a limited time period and/or maximum number of uses. The code will be invalid once these limits are reached.
  • Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be applied retrospectively to previous orders.
  • All orders remain subject to availability.
  • I reserve the right to cancel, modify, or suspend any promotion at any time.

14. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions seeks to exclude or limit liability for personal injury or death arising from negligence, or for any fraudulent misrepresentation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lovely Oxford shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to loss of profit or savings), expenses, costs, or other claims arising out of or in connection with the use of this website, the supply of products, or their use by you.

The total liability of Lovely Oxford under or in connection with any contract shall not exceed the price paid for the products in question.

Lovely Oxford will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations where such delay or failure results from any cause beyond reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, supplier delays, or courier failures.

No person who is not a party to these Terms & Conditions shall have any right to enforce any term under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. Nothing in these conditions affects your non-excludable statutory rights.

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on our website. By using this website, you confirm that you have read and agree to our Privacy Policy. I will never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

18. Governing Law & Territory

This website and these Terms & Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law.
