How is Dog Fur Preserved in Jewellery?
Step 1: Fur Collection
You'll need to collect a small amount of your dog's fur. For small jewellery like rings and earrings, just 5–10 strands or a tiny pinch is enough. For larger pieces, a little more is ideal — but I can work with whatever you have.
Step 2: Fur Preparation
The fur is carefully cleaned and prepared, removing any dirt or debris, and trimmed to the appropriate length for the piece being created.
Step 3: Resin Encapsulation
The fur is carefully placed into high-quality eco-friendly bio-resin, often with opal flakes for shimmer. The resin is poured in layers to ensure the fur is perfectly positioned with no air bubbles.
Step 4: Curing, Shaping & Polishing
The resin cures for 24–48 hours, then is shaped, sanded, and polished to a smooth, glossy finish before being set into the chosen metal piece.
How to Collect Your Dog's Fur
When to Collect
Ideally collect while your dog is still with you — but if you've already lost them, check brushes, grooming tools, bedding, blankets, clothing, or furniture for saved fur.
